When was PARA RUBBER created?

Para Rubber was founded in 1910 in Christchurch by George Waldemar Skellerup. In its origins, the company focused on the production of industrial and agricultural rubber products. In the 1980’s Para Rubber was sold and expanded to 40 stores. It later became part of Clark Rubber of Australia.

By 2009 the company was purchased by Para Rubber NZ Ltd and is now completely back in Kiwi hands. At present, Para Rubber operates through 10 stores located across the two islands and is a leading producer of gumboots. Many New Zealanders also consider the brand iconic for its “Jandals".
